ST. LOUIS – Chairman of the Missouri Democratic Party Michael Butler released the following statement after Governor Parson and the rest of Republican leadership spoke out against the St. Louis mask mandate. Amid a devastating COVID-19 state outbreak, St. Louis City and St. Louis County announced they will reimpose indoor mask mandates starting Monday, July 26.
“Mike Parson’s recent rebuke of the St. Louis’ new mask mandate is just another example of him flip flopping on the health of Missouri’s citizens. First, he was for Medicaid Expansion if the people voted for it, now he is against it. Last year, he was for local communities making local decisions to protect people, now he’s against it.
Democrats like Mayor Tishaura Jones and County Executive Sam Page have remained consistent in their results-driven approach. They’ve used strong leadership values to demand preventative measures to avoid the death of more Missourians.”
