ICYMI: Thousands Of Missourians Gather Across The State To Celebrate The LGBTQIA+ Community

March 3, 2025

On Saturday, March 1, 2025, the Missouri Democratic Party’s LGBTQIA+ Caucus led protests in 13 cities across the state, gathering thousands of supporters.

“As the Missouri Democratic Party rebuilds, it is important that members of our LGBTQIA+ community know they are welcome and our humanity is not up for debate. We have heard your calls for action and were thrilled by the community’s response. Now is not the time to retreat or shy away. Instead, we must stand together and make it clear to Missouri that we will not be erased, and we are not going back,” said April Rivera, Chair of the Missouri Democratic Party’s LGBTQIA+ Caucus. “The Missouri Democratic Party proudly champions LGBTQIA+ rights and will continue to fight for equal protection under the law for all Missourians.”

“My wife and I knew our community, Springfield, would show up, but we were pleasantly shocked to see the turnout across the state,” said Brittany Dyer, Community Organizer with the MDP’s LGBTQIA+ Caucus and lead organizer of the statewide protests. “Our rights are constantly under attack by the state and it has never been as bad as it is right now. So, it has never been more important that we stand together and show up for each other as it is now. We are so grateful to everyone who turned out in support.”
