Kansas City, MO (September 9, 2020) – In response to President Trump’s on-the-record admission that he wanted to conceal and downplay the true threat of the coronavirus, Missouri Democratic Party spokesperson Andrew Storey released the following statement:

“Donald Trump made clear what we’ve long suspected: He and his administration have downplayed the true threat of the coronavirus pandemic to American lives for his own political gain. Instead of providing accurate information to the public, Trump hid the realities, failed to prepare the country, and lied to our faces.”

“Today’s revelations prove Americans can’t trust the Trump administration to do what is in the best interest of the public. Leaders like Governor Parson, who take their cues from Trump’s downplaying of the threat of coronavirus, should immediately reassess where their priorities are, take a stand, and hold the president accountable for his lies.”
