KANSAS CITY, MO. – The Missouri Democratic Party Chairman Michael Butler and Executive Director Randy Dunn announced Wednesday the Party now has the funding to support six regional offices around the state.
The MDP has been in talks with the Democratic National Committee regarding assistance with establishing and maintaining 10 regional offices for nearly a year. This week, the MDP received a total of $50,000 through the DNC Red State Fund to go toward paying staff at the following Phase One offices:
-Jackson County
-Clay County
-Greene County
-St. Charles County
-Southwest Missouri Democrats
-St. Louis County
Assistance payments will be received monthly through October. Additional fundraising is planned to extend payments to the following Phase Two offices:
-Boone County
-Buchanan County
-Southeast Missouri Democrats
-St. Louis City
Chairman Michael Butler and Executive Director Randy Dunn released the following statement on the new Party support available across Missouri:
“We are thrilled to finally offer more assistance to existing, establishing and new regional offices across our state. We want to thank DNC Chairman Jaime Harrison and the entire DNC team. This has been a priority goal of ours since we took leadership positions in 2020. While the total amount isn’t as much as we asked for, we must start somewhere and prove to the DNC that Missouri is worth more resources - we already know that. Summer fundraisers are being planned to get us the remaining funding needed to complete both Phase One and Two. The Party works for the entire state, and we can’t wait to go out there and continue to show Missourians the possibilities for our great communities,” said Butler and Dunn.
