Dark Money Sock-Puppet Will Scarf Decries Dark Money, Unelected AG Bailey Too Chicken To Show Up To Federalist Society Forum

The Missouri Democratic Party congratulates Democratic candidate Elad Gross for clearly demonstrating why he is the best candidate to serve as Missouri’s Attorney General during a candidate forum hosted by the Federalist Society in St. Louis. Gross presented himself as a competent professional with a strong understanding of the issues impacting Missouri families, successfully demonstrating a sharp contrast between himself and a dark money sock-puppet. Unelected Attorney General Andrew Bailey was not brave enough to join the discussion and skipped the forum entirely.

Over the course of the forum, Scharf repeated widely dispelled falsehoods around the 2020 election results, attacks on IVF and reproductive health freedom, among other popular GOP propaganda touch points. Scharf went as far as to decry “Antifa dark money groups,” but failed to disclose that just TODAY Club for Growth, a known dark money group, dropped over $525k into Scharf’s candidate PAC account, following a $465k drop from the group on June 20th. Scharf’s commitment to spreading misinformation is only matched by his dedication to finding ways to undermine our Democracy to implement his Party’s deeply unpopular, extreme agenda.

“Missourians are fed up with the constant chaos intentionally created by these politicians who are only in this for themselves and want their elected officials to show up for work focused on making their lives better. Unfortunately, Republicans have turned Missouri’s Attorney General’s office into a campaign vehicle only interested in finding ways to spend more Missouri tax dollars on frivolous lawsuits or interfere in our personal lives to score political points. Missourians want their Attorney General's office to work for them, and we have a great choice in Elad to serve as our Attorney General, as he demonstrated on stage this evening,” said Missouri Democratic Party Chair Russ Carnahan
