Missourians need a governor who supports a woman’s right to choose her own personal health care. Kehoe isn’t that person.

From his political and personal culpability for the events of Jan. 6, 2021, to his insincere populist showboating on the Senate floor, to his outrageous recent defense of Christian nationalism, Hawley has been a frequently embarrassing senator for Missouri — and not an especially effective one.
You could in perfectly good conscience vote for Democratic Missouri U.S. Senate candidate Lucas Kunce, a former Marine, simply because he’s not the other guy.
Hawley deserves to lose, not only because he sprinted away from the seditionists he’d just encouraged on Jan. 6, but because what he mostly does is run his mouth. As the conservative columnist George Will once asked about our Mr. Hawley, “has there ever been such a high ratio of ambition to accomplishment?”
In the election for Missouri secretary of state, we endorse Democrat Barbara Phifer.
Republican Denny Hoskins of Warrensburg would be wrong for Missouri. He’s a 2020 presidential election denier, which would be bad enough, but he wants the job that includes broad oversight of elections in the state.

We strongly endorse Democrat Elad Gross for the job. Gross is well-qualified for the position.
Now in private practice, he once served as an assistant attorney general. He is familiar to many Missourians for his tireless work enforcing the Sunshine Law, which is supposed to guarantee citizen access to their government.
