COLUMBIA, Mo. – As Republicans in Jefferson City are bumbling over their vow more than a month ago to find a plan in three weeks to restore the Governor’s healthcare cuts hurting 8,000 seniors and people with disabilities, the Missouri Democratic Party is reminding Missourians that Eric Greitens initially proposed taking healthcare away from even more of the state’s vulnerable citizens.
In February, Eric Greitens introduced a budget that “could boot as many as 21,000 elderly and disabled residents out of nursing home and home care programs.”
“These incredibly painful healthcare cuts from Republicans in Jefferson City are already enough of a disaster for seniors and people with disabilities. How out-of-touch did Eric Greitens have to be to initially push for more than doubling them?”
