COLUMBIA, Mo. — Yesterday morning, the Kansas City Star revealed that Josh Hawley failed to “even look for the most basic facts” in his investigation into former governor Greitens’ use of text message deleting app, Confide. By 5pm, we learned that Hawley “never filed a written records request for documents in the Confide investigation.” Instead, they “orally submitted a formal request” for documents.
Huh? There is no such thing as an “orally submitted a formal request,” and Hawley knows it. Yet instead of coming clean to Missourians about the fact that his sham investigation was designed to protect the former governor, Hawley is continuing to lie about it. The truth is, as Attorney General, Hawley has been nothing more than “a political opportunist uninterested in his official duties as the state’s top prosecutor.”
“The facts speak for themselves: Josh Hawley has been too busy climbing the political ladder to do his job as Attorney General. If Hawley can’t do the job the people of Missouri elected him to do less than two years ago, he doesn’t deserve a promotion.”
