THE MISSOURI DEMOCRATIC PARTY
A Legacy of Progress
The Missouri Democratic Party holds the distinction of being the oldest political party in the United States established west of the Mississippi River. For the last century, we’ve led the fight for working families. Today, we’re organizing in communities across Missouri to protect and build on our progress.
Moving Missouri Forward
Democrats believe that everyone deserves the chance to succeed when they work hard and play by the rules. We believe that vital tools like quality education, access to healthcare, civil rights and a responsible budget are the key ingredients to good governance and greater opportunity for all.
Missouri Democrats are fired up and ready to bring change to Washington D.C., Jefferson City, and their own communities. It’s never been more important for hard working Missourians just like you to get engaged and become a part of moving our state forward.
Our Leaders
From President Harry Truman to Governor Mel Carnahan, our party has a rich legacy of strong leaders who’ve served as powerful advocates for working people. Today, a new and proudly diverse generation of Democrats are leading the charge to bring progress to communities across Missouri.
